3 Definitions of Team Coaching in Singapore

We have to ask ourselves: does coaching matter? It is a question that one needs to raise when we think about the costs of a leadership coaching program in Singapore or other types of coaching programmes. When we invite speakers, try group activities, and do any other coaching activities, it may feel like a waste of time. You may think that these expenses are better left off to other beneficial programmes.

Organisations can benefit from coaching if they want to help their employees become more skilled at working and communicating with each other. Coaching can benefit the person who receives the coaching— but it can also benefit the entire company or team. With skilled employees, you have a more productive company.

What defines workplace coaching? Here is how a team coaching program should be viewed by those who want to pursue coaching in Singapore.

    1) Workplace coaching is not training

Training involves the development of new skills and talents, while coaching is not focused on that. While coaching does help you develop skills, it only helps you apply previous ones you have already acquired and employ them in such a way as to improve your workplace outlook. You will have an easier time communicating with teammates and other people in the office when you have undergone team coaching in Singapore.

    2) Workplace coaching is not counselling or therapy

Some people may harbour the notion that workplace coaching is somewhat like counselling because it helps you improve your relations with people in your office. But this is not the main goal of coaching. A team coaching program focuses on ambition, drive, and direction. Coaching helps you become a more effective and productive team member, while counselling involves empathising with other people. While both are important to the team in their ways, they should not be interchanged.

    3) Coaching is not a mentorship program

Others may think that coaching is not a mentorship program, and they would be right about it. Coaching goes a long way in helping others hone and develop their skills in their chosen fields. Mentoring is training that helps develop skill sets, whilst coaching takes it a step forward and places people in leadership roles. People should be up for the challenge when they receive coaching for their business.
